A radio clearance given by a JTAC, FAC, or controlling agency authorizing the release of ordnance on a specified target. "Cleared Hot" is typically used when the controller has eyes on the target and the attack geometry, and is satisfied that the strike will not endanger friendly forces or violate restrictions.
It is normally associated with type 1 / type 2 CAS control where the controller directly observes the attack or target area.

Application in DCS World

In DCS, AI JTACs may simulate the effect of "Cleared Hot" through scripted radio messages or comms menu prompts, but they rarely use the exact phrase. In multiplayer, human JTACs and controllers commonly use "Cleared Hot" over SRS to authorize weapons release in CAS training.
Cadets should treat "Cleared Hot" as the formal point at which they are legally and tactically cleared to release weapons, and should never drop before receiving it in a controlled CAS scenario.
