Standard attack geometry calls used by strike aircraft to inform the controller and other players of their attack run status.
- In Hot: The aircraft is turning inbound or established on the attack heading and is committed to an attack run toward the target.
- Off Hot: The aircraft is coming off the attack axis and is no longer in a position to release ordnance on that pass.
These calls support airspace deconfliction, timing, and controller awareness, especially when multiple aircraft are working the same target area.
Application in DCS World
In DCS multiplayer CAS or strike missions, cadets should report "In Hot" when rolling onto final attack heading and "Off Hot" when pulling off target, even if they did not release weapons. This gives JTACs, AFACs, and other flights a clear mental picture of who is committed and who is off the target axis.
AI does not require these calls, but using them on SRS builds good habits and prevents conflicts in busy target areas.
